Hiring with Marcilly
What does Marcilly Recruitment specialise in?
We place business support, private household and childcare staff: Executive and Personal Assistants, Chiefs of Staff, Private PAs, House, Palace and Estate Managers, Housekeepers, Butlers, Private Chefs, Nannies, Governesses and Private Tutors, Office and Operations Managers, HR professionals, Events and Client Services professionals and Virtual Assistants. We work for businesses, family offices and private households across London, the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
Where do you operate?
Our head office is on Great Portland Street in London and we have a presence in Dubai through Marcilly Recruitment International. We regularly place staff in Mayfair, Notting Hill, Chelsea, Kensington and Knightsbridge, across the UK, in Monaco, Italy and Switzerland, and in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
How does the process work?
It starts with a briefing meeting, in person or by video, to understand the responsibilities, the team, the culture and the budget. We then recommend the right job title, experience level and skill set, search our network and the wider market, interview and test candidates, and present a shortlist with honest commentary. We manage interviews, references, offers and onboarding, and stay in touch throughout the guarantee period. Read more about our approach.
How quickly can you shortlist?
We shortlist all new roles within 24 hours of taking the brief, drawing first on candidates we already know and have interviewed. A full shortlist for a permanent role typically follows within a week; temporary and urgent cover can be faster.
What is your guarantee?
We offer a nine-month guarantee as standard on all permanent placements. If a placement does not work out within that period, we will replace the candidate. It is one of the longest guarantees in the market and reflects how carefully we match.
How do you vet candidates?
Every candidate is interviewed by a consultant before being presented. Where relevant we run role-specific testing, and we complete reference checks at final-interview stage so you can make an informed decision. For household roles we also verify right to work, DBS status and, where appropriate, qualifications such as paediatric first aid or teaching status.
How are your fees structured?
We work on a contingency basis for permanent placements: no fee is payable unless we place a candidate, and the fee is a percentage of the first-year salary. Temporary assignments are charged at an agreed hourly or daily rate. Terms of business are shared when we take a brief.
Can you run a confidential search?
Yes. Many of our searches, particularly for private households and senior roles, are not advertised publicly. We can approach candidates discreetly and share the identity of the client only at the appropriate stage.
Do you recruit internationally and help with relocation?
We do. We place candidates who relocate between London, Europe and the Gulf, and we advise on visas, packages and the practicalities of moving. Because our team has lived and worked in both London and the Middle East, we understand the cultural nuances on both sides.

Working with Marcilly
How do I register with Marcilly?
Apply to a specific role on our job board or register your CV for future and confidential opportunities. Every application is reviewed by a consultant. If your experience fits the kind of roles we work on, we will arrange a registration call or meeting.
Does it cost anything to use your service?
No. Our fees are paid by employers. We will never charge a candidate.
Will I hear back after applying?
We read every application and reply to everyone whose experience matches the roles we recruit for. Because of the volume we receive, we cannot respond to each one individually; if you have not heard from us within five working days, your application has not been successful on this occasion. Your details are kept on file in line with our privacy policy.
What happens at a registration meeting?
An honest conversation of around an hour, in person or by video, so that we really understand you as a person and as a professional: your experience, what you enjoy, what you want next and the practicalities of location, salary, notice period and right to work. Bring your passport or proof of right to work and any relevant certificates.
Will you send my CV to clients without asking?
Never. We will always discuss a role with you and get your agreement before presenting you to a client.
Do you help with CVs and interview preparation?
Yes. We offer CV advice, detailed interview preparation and honest feedback after every interview. Our guides cover the basics; your consultant will tailor the rest to the specific role.
What kind of candidates do you work with?
Business support and private household professionals at every level, from Office Juniors and Junior PAs through to Chiefs of Staff, Senior EAs, House and Estate Managers. Language skills, international experience and a background in luxury, finance, family offices or private households are often in demand.
Can you help me relocate to Dubai or Europe?
Many of our roles are in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Monaco and Switzerland. We will tell you honestly whether a role is open to relocation, what the package typically covers and what to expect. Some Gulf roles require you to already be in the country; the job listing will say so.
What support do I get after I start?
We keep in regular contact throughout your probation period and beyond. If something is not working, we want to know early so that we can help.
